Terrorism is the most selfish act imaginable. It is contrary to the advancement of civilization and the continuance of freedom, human rights, and personal liberty. Freedom is not free. We are realizing this. We must be prepared to fight for and defend our freedom. Our National Tragedy, exceeding the human, material and economic losses of the Pearl Harbor surprise attack on December 7th, 1941 by the Empire of Japan, is different in that it was not an attack to further a military objective; it was a direct attack on freedom, its symbols, its people, its nation. All we've stood for. All we've fought for. You have my blessings and full support. We are Americans and we stand united! |
Audience reaction and anger was strongest as Ruppert presented selected quotes from The Grand Chessboard, a 1997 book by former Carter National Security Advisor and member of the Trilateral Commission, Zbigniew Brzezinski. Those quotes - along with maps of Central Asia - indicated clearly that the current war had been in the planning stages for at least four years. Two particular quotes from Brzezinski indicating the need for a Pearl Harbor-like attack evoked boos and hisses for the intelligence expert and professor who also served in the Reagan Administration. Bush witnesses first plane impact!"Anyway, I was sitting there, and my Chief of Staff -- well, first of all, when we walked into the classroom, I had seen this plane fly into the first building. There was a TV set on. And you know, I thought it was pilot error and I was amazed that anybody could make such a terrible mistake. And something was wrong with the plane, or -- anyway, I'm sitting there, listening to the briefing, and Andy Card came and said, "America is under attack."
