ABOUT THIS EDITION

Look below the surface.

Human Underground is a small resource about underground spaces, household systems and preparedness.

The current edition brings together practical planning guides for homeowners: what to ask before building below ground, how to document moisture problems, how to plan essential power and how to organize recovery after water damage.

How we approach a guide

We keep observation, planning and professional assessment distinct. Guides link to public-agency references where relevant and name the date those sources were reviewed. They are general educational material, not property-specific engineering or emergency instructions.

Images illustrate planning concepts; they are not construction drawings, tested shelter designs or evidence of completed projects.

The current edition

The guides are original content prepared for this edition. They are separate from the historical collection and are not attributed to the people who operated the earlier site.

A separate historical collection

Human Underground previously published alternative news, commentary and community material. Older content is retained with archive dates so that readers can identify what an old reference meant. Historical claims should not be read as current editorial advice.
